Natural History is a favorite type of subject for me. There are so many possibilities, and so many different types of subject. Remember, as with ALL photography, but particularly natural history, pictures must be of the highest quality and SHARP. In many cases, subjects must be treated accurately and with care. That doesn't mean that unusual viewpoints cannot be used, of a few tricks to produce more striking results. One of my most successful pictures, financially, was a slide of a Mallard that appeared on a series of greetings cards in this country and North America. It was laid amongst some bluebells. All I did differently to most people was lay on the floor. This meant that I was looking straight at the duck at eye level. Thus the bluebells were above the duck and curved round it. The total income from that one picture was several HUNDREDS of pounds !
